I've got into the new English page now. The weather is burning hot today
too, but I feel the
air is more like that of fall's now. However the incredibly hot weather
will continue for a month
or so. Will I be able to go and visit Kyoto at the end of this November?
If I really want to go then,
I'll have to make a reservation at the beginning of September, about three
months before the
first day of the tour. If I plan a tour of two nights and three days, it'll
cost me from \35,000 to
\40,000. If it's just one night and two days tour, it'll cost me less than
\30,000, I suppose. I've
checked it out now and have found that the price of the tour will be higher
than I expected this
year. I thought you could make a reservation three months before the start,
but I was wrong.
This year I can reserve a Kyoto tour even now. But I can't make up my mind
until I can expect
the sum of pension I can receive this year.
Actually the best starting day will be Monday, November 20 as is usual
the case with every year.
If the tour is 1 night and 2 days, the lowest price will be \30,700. If
it's 2 nights and 3 days, the
lowest price will be \40,800. What do you think? It's true that you can
enjoy beautifully colored
leaves in a nearby place like Hakone. You can also stay at a hotel in Hakone
and enjoy eating a
gorgeous dinner there. It's also a very good idea, isn't it? Kyoto or Hakone,
which is better?
The photos above are from the Eikando (the Zenrinji Temple). I guess it's
the best place to
enjoy colored leaves in fall. I've been there many times, but I have never
visited it at night when
its illumination is so beautiful. There are many places in Kyoto at present
that are famous for
their beautiful illumination. The Kiyomizudera Temple is also famous for
its beauty at night.
The little boy was found in the concrete tunnel. He was possibly thrown
away there. He must
have been spending some lonely nights there. He was lucky that he was rescued
by an animal
protecting group. He was so hungry and dehydrated that he drank a lot of
milk. It seemed that
he was of an age when he should enjoy drinking milk from his mother. After
filling up his belly, he
became very playful. He was such a good boy. The vet they visited after
that made sure that the
boy was in good health. When they got home, he met a new friend there.
They enjoyed eating dinner
together and after that they took a bath. Now they're waiting for good
families to adopt them.
Maybe the milk he was drinking in the car was goat milk. If he drinks
usual milk for human beings,
something could be wrong with his stomach. Always preparing goat milk for
puppies is a good idea,
but it must cost you a lot. Rescuing animals is not an easy job to do.
We have to thank them for
the important jobs that we all have to be interested in.
This morning I went to the Mizuho Bank, Fujisawa Branch. I told them to
adjust the big mistake
they made in May. They admitted that it was their fault and they did something
to make up for it
ASAP. Their mistake was that the Mutual Relief Association couldn't withdraw
money from my
bank account of Mizuho. The reason why this happened was that the Mizuho
Bank didn't send
the important form to the Mutual Aid Association. They have sent it the
the certain place in
Tokyo today. Why did I have the important form? When I turned in the application
form in May, they
gave the original form and a copy to me. I was told to send the original
form to school. Who told
me to do so, I don't quite remember. Maybe the woman at the school office,
or the Mizuho Bank.
Anyway it's OK if the withdrawal of insurance money will surely start in
September.
Now the news about so many mistakes with my number cards. The government
is planning to
introduce the system of combining the health insurance card and the my
number cards in fall next
year. Not a few people wonder if it's possible because of so many mistakes.
In one of the mistakes
you could see other people's personal information by way of my number cards.
Impossible!

I'm sorry if I put this video for the second time on this page. The story
of the little boy is so
impressive that I wanted to introduce it to the readers even if it's the
second time. The previous
owner threw him away because he had scabies that are developed by mites.
Maybe he thought
it must cost him a lot to ask the vet to treat him. But he must have been
a cruel owner.
The rescuer took him to the vet and bought necessary medications to cure
his scabies. He's
going to stay with the rescuer for a while until his scabies are completely
healed.
He's such a friendly and playful boy that he'll be able to find a good
family to adopt him. He's
so cute as a stuffed doll. I wish him a good luck and a lot of happiness.
God bless him.
Today's the 78th anniversary of the A-bombing on Nagasaki. About 74,000
people out of the
whole 240,000 were killed by the bomb. It exploded at 500 meters above Matsuyama Town and
burned everything below. The temperature of the fire ball in the center
of explosion was about
3,000 to 4,000 degrees Celcius, which was almost as hot as the surface
of the sun that is
estimated as 6,000 degrees Celcius. Many people evaporated in a flash. Think of your families
who have disappeared in a second. Or they might have been suffering from
their burned skin.
And you can't do anything to save them. What would you do? Everyone in
Nagasaki had to go
through a lot of difficulties after the bomb. Why did the Japanese government
surrender before
the first A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima? Did the second bomb have to
be dropped on
Nagasaki? Sooner or later Japan had to be defeated by America.
There is a question here. "Why do you think the U.S. government drop
the A-bombs on
Hiroshima and Nagasaki?" Then older Americans would answer, "They
just wanted to finish the
war before lots of young American soldiers were killed." Without the
A-bombs, do you think
Japan had chances to win the war? Could they win the war without enough
food to eat? They
enjoyed hamburgers and Coke in America those days. They ate potatoes in Japan. Not French
flies. You see the big difference between America and Japan.
The U.S. government just wanted to test the nuclear weapons on Japan.
Because they didn't
think much of Asian people. For them Japanese people were meaningless people
that they
could kill for A-bomb testing. And one more thing was that they wanted
to show whole the
world that America was the strongest countries in the world.
I think that more and more Americans should come and visit Hiroshima and
Nagasaki and that
they should apologize to all the victims for what their government did
about 80 years ago. I
really wish them a lot of happiness in the heaven. We have to build a peaceful
world together.

《After losing her parents she was very scared to be close to people.》
The phone call about the abandoned puppies told that there were about 5 puppies in an
abandoned factory workshop, but when the rescuer arrived at the site, he
found only one little
girl inside a building. She had a swollen belly which meant she had parasites.
Apparently she
was malnourished and skinny. I didn't know why the rescuer gave her water
first, but maybe
he wondered if he could give her food and water in case she was sick.
They hurried to the vet clinic. While they were driving to the vet, she
loved to smuggle and
was staying on the rescuers' laps. She wasn't seriously sick. She had a
good appetite. She
needed to get proper nutrition and she would be OK.
After they came home, she ate a proper dinner and drank much water. She
must have been
so thirsty. Then it was a bath time. She took a warm bath and was cleaned
up. Now she was
refreshed and they are now looking for a new forever family for the cute
little girl.
Now is a very difficult for people to have happy lives. Especially young
kids and older people
have a hard time living on. Animals also have a hard time to find good
families who would take
care of them. When I was a little boy, there were many abandoned dogs.
Stray dogs were caught
by the people from the public health center, and after a certain period
of time without anyone to
come and take them, they had to be killed with nitrogen gas. Today there
are more and more
good people who try to save stray dogs from being killed.
Children usually look happy, but some of them are in trouble. Some parents
don't take good
care of their kids. There are some incredible parents who enjoy playing
pachinko while they leave
their little kids behind in the car. I'm very sorry to say this, but some
kids are dead in the very
hot car. Staying in the burning hot car must have been like the hell.
I've been a school teacher for nearly 40 years. I sometimes noticed a
kid who could have some
troubles. But those kids never tell the truth. It was very difficult to
let them tell a true story.
However it's a very important job for us grown-ups to help them grow up
properly and have their
own happy lives. Everybody knows that war is sin, but not many people think
it important to take
good care of young children and unhappy animals.

Now the MLB game between the Angels and the Giants is going on. In today's
game Shohei
Ohtani is the starting pitcher, but his condition is not very good. Again
the catcher Matt Thaiss
made a throwing mistake and the Giants made the best use of it and got
the first run. Why is
he such a poor catcher and a thrower? The commentator said that it was
also a mistake of
Luis Rengifo. They're both notorious for their poor performances. Any other good players
in
their place? Now the Giants lead by the score of 1-0. The Angels can't
make good hits.
Today it seems that Ohtani can't control his pitches well. Today's catcher
is Thaiss and it's
widely known that Ohtani and Thaiss don't get along well with each other.
But today's bad
condition doesn't have anything to do with their bad relations. Maybe Ohtani
is really exhausted.
The commentator says that Ohtani will be changed with a reliever in the
next inning, which means
he can't become a winning pitcher today.
Wow! Mike Moustakas hit a three-run home run and now the Angels leads by 4-1, which has
given Ohtani the right to become a winning pitcher. However the Angels
have still have a big
problem. They don't have good relievers. I hope they will do excellent
jobs and let Ohtani get
the 10th winning game during this season. We don't know what will happen,
though.
A great pressure is on the reliever José Soriano and he's in the critical situation. Finally he
made it and gave no runs to the Giants. But who will pitch in the last two innings? Now Matt
Moore is getting ready to take the mound. How about the closer after him? If
you were the
manager of the Angels, would you have the nerve to send Carlos Estévez to the mound? I
couldn't. I wouldn't. That could never happen.
Shohei Ohtani will first be at bat at the bottom of the 8th inning. The
pitcher walked him. Oh,
my God! I have to see the worst scene on TV. Estévez is now walking to the mound. He doesn't
look nervous, which I hate about him. Doesn't he feel responsible for what
happened? Why don't
they change the pitchers? I guess he's too proud of himself.
When C. J. Cron caught the grounder, he made a serious error in throwing the ball to the
second base. Cron is a terrible player in that he can't make hits and he
make defensive errors. Now
I understand why the Colorado Rockies traded Cron and Grichuk to the Angels. They can't do
anything beneficial for the team. I'm sorry that I'm too mean, but I'm
telling the truth.
There are many people who think nothing of neglecting animals. There are
also many people
who respect animals and take good care of them. The little girl in this
video was found on the
highway, starving to death, wet and scared. So before the rescuer arrived,
they gave her some
food and water. They came home first and the puppy met new friends, Arra
and Sleepy. They
liked one another, but Sleepy was going to be adopted the next day. Arra's
the rescuer's dog.
The next day the puppy and Sleepy and the rescuer went to the vet clinic
together. The girl
was found to be in good health, so was Sleepy. On their way back home,
the rescuer met
Sleepy's new owner. Goodbyes are always so sad. When they came home again,
there was
another dog waiting for them. It was a very small puppy and they became
good friends soon.
They took a warm bath together and enjoyed a proper meal together.
Those little puppies don't know anything about their parents. Maybe they
have never drunk
milk from their mother dogs. I hope they'll find a lot of happiness in
the future. Please someone
adopt them and take good care of them. They deserve happy lives. You agree
with me, right?
He was a beautiful white dog, but when he was found he was incredibly dirty.
In order to live,
he had to go around the area to look for something to eat. Of course it was impossible for him
to get good food except for the dog food given by the people living nearby.
When he saw the
rescuer, he was happy to come to him, wagging his tail.
On their way back home, the rescuer bought some sausages at the store,
and gave it to him.
He was so starving that he hogged down the food. Perhaps he was bitten
by a wild dog and he
had a wound on his belly. The rescuer was worried about his wound, so he
hurriedly drove to
the vet clinic. His would was not good, but the doctor said it would be
healed.
When they came home, it was time for him to take a warm shower. Because
he was so dirty
and had so many fleas and lice, he had to be shampooed several times. Now
that he was cleaned
up, it was time for a delicious dinner. He ate it up so quickly. He was
so hungry. Now he's looking
for a new loving family to adopt him. I wish him a good luck and a lot
of happiness. God bless him.

《Welcome our new dog to the family》
Shiba Inu Hana & Maru
The big sister is Hana (2 years old)
The little sister is Maru (2 months old)
Living in Japan
Please subscribe to my channel
It seems that the owners of Hana and Maru are interested in English, or
they might come from
an English-speaking country. This video how Maru's first day was like in
the family. The little girl
was very curious, but the big sister Hana was a little bit afraid of her
sister. Of course she didn't
know that Maru was her little sister. She would be surprised to know that
she had a little sister
now. Maru is very friendly and will soon like Hana. Maybe she really needed
someone to take care
of her. And that was Hana, her big sister in the new family.
I later knew that Maru was a real sister of Hana's. They were born from
the same mother. Of
course at different times. Maru is such a cute girl with a troubled look.
That's what charms a lot
of fans of the Hana & Maru's family. I like both of them. Especially
Maru's troubled look. Maru likes
her big sister Hana so much that she wants to immitate whatever things
Hana does.
They were related by birth, so Hana was interested in the little girl.
At night she secretly came
to Maru's cage to watch her. This video was shot a little more than a
year ago, and I'd like you
to watch the very friendly sisters at present. Mom says in the video that
Hana doesn't like other
dogs, but Maru was the exception. Hana liked Maru so much. Of course, Maru
loved Hana.

I might have introduced this video before, which I'm not sure. Please forgive me if I did. The
little dog was found on the seaside shore. He was staying there with some
other adult dogs, but
they were very friendly and didn't hurt the abandoned puppy. I felt so
sad when I saw him looking
scared trembling when he saw the rescuer. Now it was OK, because he came
to you to rescue
you. They spent some relaxing time at the beach and started for home.
Back at home, he met a friend, and they took a warm bath together. After
that they enjoyed a
proper lunch and cuddle time. They were so hungry. The next day the rescuer
took him out for
a drive. When they reached the park, they got out of the car and enjoyed
walking there. He had
a meal there and, of course, he gobbled up the food again. Then he suddenly
became active and
curious. He constantly wagged his tail and never stopped smiling. He felt
happy staying with the
rescuer. Belly rubs were his favorite. Lastly they went to the vet clinic.
There was no probles.
The little boy is now looking for a new home, a loving family. God bless
him.
This morning I felt like throwing up and went to the bathroom, but luckily
nothing happened.
What was wrong with my stomach? I didn't eat too much last night. I thought
I should sleep for
an hour or so to feel fine. When I woke up, something was still wrong with
my stomach, but I
tried to eat breakfast. It was OK. You may be surprised to hear this, but
I ate pork cutlet. It's
already 13:37, but I haven't eaten lunch yet. What am I going to eat for
lunch? Grilled fish might
be good for the stomach, but I'll eat it for dinner tonight. How about eating ramen for lunch.
They're uncooked ramen noodles, so they taste much better than instant ramen.
It's shoyu ramen, which is ramen in soy sauce-based soup. Which type of ramen would you
like the best? The basic type is shoyu, but there are many others. Miso,
Tonkotsu, Shio, etc.
Once a cook developed a shoyu ramen with fried vegetables with starchy sauce on it. It was
called "sanma-men" in Chinatown in Yokohama. It's so tasty and very popular in Kanagawa.
Looks so delicious, isn't it? It looks very gorgeous, but actually it's
no so expensive. You can
call it food for common people. When you have a chance to go to a Chinese
restaurant, you should
try it once. Once you eat it, I'm sure you'll be a repeater.
(Saturday, August 12, 2023)
38 years ago today, the JAL Flight 123 heading for Osaka crashed into Mt.
Osutaka in Gunma
Prefecture, killing 520 people out of 524. All the 15 crews on the plane
including the captain
Takahama were dead in a flash. The investigating committee concluded the
break of the pressure
bulkhead caused the loss of about 60 % of the vertical tail and they couldn't
control the airplane
any longer. They lost all the hydraulic pressure which gave power to control
everything.
However not a few people doubt there must have been another reason why
the plane lost its
vertical tail. The most reasonable guess is that a flying object like a
missile mistakenly hit the
vertical tail, making the plane to be uncontrollable. It might have been
done by the Self-Defense
Forces or the U.S. Air Force. Anyway it the truth was made public, it would
put them into critical
situations. So they will never tell Japanese people the "truth"
of the incident. Actually it was not
an "accident," but it was an "incident." What a horrifying
country we live in!
It's been as many as 38 years since the incident happened. Miraculously
4 people survived the
plane crash, but they're under pressure that they can't say anything about
the incident. I'm sorry.
Now some other countries surrounding Japan have possibility of attacking
Japan at any time. In
the situation like this, the Japanese government have to strengthen the
Self-Difense Forces. Is
it possible for us to reveal the fact and stop the Self-Defence Forces
from getting bigger now?
It's a very difficult problem. If the missile was launched by the U.S.
jet plane, what would we do?
Could we cut the relations with America? Then soon China will be coming
to invade our country.
Now you know the difficulty about this problem, right? What should we do?
When Japan was at war with the United States, there was not much food for
the people in the
country. Of course the people at the top had enough food to eat and they
must have enjoyed
good meals every day when people had a hard time searching for just a cup
of rice. Under such a
circumstance, why did Japanese people have to respect the Emperor and die
for the country?
No one knew who had started the war, and what for? There were also lots
of poor people in the
hostile countries. Who was happy to fight them and kill them. They were
as poor as Japanese
people were. Americans were only exceptions. America was a rich country
and they had a lot of
food to eat. When Japanese people were eating potatoes, they were enjoying
hamburgers and
coke. What's this difference? The commander of the combined fleet Yamamoto
Isoroku, who had
been to the United States and studied there, should have known the big industrial difference
between Japan and America. Potatoes can't beat hamburgers and coke.
It's very important who the political leader of the cocuntry is. Now Kishida
Fumio is prime
minister of Japan. Is he the right person to be on top of the Japanese
people? Does he always
think of Japanese people? Is he doing a good job for the happiness of Japanese
people? Many
people doubt that he's always thinking of himself and the Liberal Democratic
Party. Are there
many poor people who have never been to expensive restaurants in his mind?
No, never.
Politicians usually enjoy expensive meals, but they don't feel sorry for
the poor people. Poverty
is the biggest and the most dangerous element that leads to revolutions.

《Abandoned Puppy Gets a New Chance at Life》
She was a little girl found in the area where lots of neutered dogs stay
with tags given by the
government. The puppy was soon very friendly to the rescuer. After eating
some food, they
were on their way back home. On their way, they ate lunch and played in
the park. Then after
that they went to the vet clinic. There wasn't any problem about her health,
so they came home.
Because she was very dirty, she took a warm bath. After she was cleaned
up, she had a proper
dinner. Now she found a very good place to stay in, but this is not her
final destination. As is
usual the case with rescued dogs, she's looking for a new loving family.
Good luck, little girl.
Suppose that you were a stray dog abandoned somewhere you don't know.
Maybe you're afraid
of human beings. Do you think you can trust people once again? You might
meet some good
people who will love you and give you water and food and possibly a warm
home. Are you sure
you can believe human beings. They will never abandoned you again? However
almost all the
rescued dogs try to trust people and wait for a new family to come and
adopt them. I hope not
a few people try hard not to betray their trust in them. Good luck and
happiness to rescued dogs.

《She Cried for Days as People Passed Her by Until This Happened》
We found her after receiving an emergency tip by one of our followers. Luckily, she was in good
health when we found her with no signs of injury :)
For more information, visit: https://www.pawsquadron.com/dogs/pino/
According to the information, she was wandering near the train station.
When the rescuer
arrived at the site, he knew that it was such a dangerous place for a little
puppy. Finally she
was found by the rescuer. She looked so sad. But maybe she wanted someone
to rescue her.
The rescuer was riding his bike there, so he put her inside his leather
jacket and started riding
back home. On the way he took her to the vet clinic, but there was nothing
wrong with her health.
When they go home together, the rescuer gave her a proper meal. She had
a good appetite.
After eating food, she took a warm shower and got cleaned up. Usually dogs
get sleepy after
eating food, but she was an exception. She became very curious and playful.
She was such an
interesting girl. Now she's looking for a new loving family. Please God
bless the little girl.
It might have been my second time introducing this video in my English
diary. However it was
such a lovable video, please let me ask you to enjoy it for the second
time.
What's happening to Typhoon 7 at present? Look at the maps below. The weather
forecast
says that the 7th typhoon of this year is landing on the Kanto District
around August 15.
I thought that the typhoon was coming straight northward to our place,
actually it was not. It
came northwestward to the Kansai Area. After going through Kansai, it might
go up northward
or turn right a little. Who knows which direction it will go to. I hear
it's been moving so slowly
that it pours lots of rain in the same place. It rains heavily in the purple
part on the right map.
(Monday, August 14, 2023)
Typhoon 2307 is coming closer to Japan. As of 0:00 August 14, its strength
is 965 hPa and
it moves northwestward at the speed of 10km/h. It moves so slowly that
it doesn't lose energy
and as I wrote yesterday lots of amount of rain would pour over the same
place.
In the Kanto District, we'll have to be careful about the storm the day
after tomorrow. But in the
Kansai District where the storm hits directly, they have to be extremely
careful with the rain and
wind. If it starts moving faster, it will gradually lose its energy and
everything will be fine.
Finally the Angels succeeded in preventing the Houston Astros from sweeping
the three
consequtive games. This morning they won the third game by the score of
2-1. On top of the 3rd
inning Mickey Moniak doubled to deep right field. Eduardo Escobar scored. Then on top of the
6th inning Shohei Ohtani homered to center field making his team lead by
2-0. It's been 9 games
since Ohtani hit his 40th homer in the game with the Seattle Mariners.
Of course it was Ohtani
himself who felt relieved to hit his 41st home run. It was a very big 137-meter
homer. Of course
he's the home run king in the American League, but Matt Olson of the Atlanta Braves has
already hit his 43rd homer making him the home run king in the MLB. There's
still a long way to
go, though. I hope Ohtani will do better jobs when he possibly gets less
and less tired.
As of 13:00 on August 14, Typhoon 2307 is about 200km southeast of Cape
Shionomisaki,
heading northwestward at the speed of 15km/h. The central pressure is 965hPa
and the strongest
wind is 40m/s. The storm will reach near Sakai City and on August 16 it
will get to the Japan Sea.
It will change into an extratropical storm at 9:00 on August 18 and then
reach the Sea of Okhotsk.
Near the storm area, you have to be careful with a strong wind and heavy
rain.
If the typhoon had been in the course to directly hit Tokyo, it would
have brought a very big
disaster to the Kanto District. Anyway the only problem about Typhoon 2307
is its slow speed
to move. It will bring about an incredible amount of rain to the Kansai
District. I'm worried about
the Togetsukyo Bridge in Kyoto which was flooded many times in the past.
(Tuesday, August 15, 2023) 《78th anniversary of the end of the Pacific War》
Today is the 78th anniversary of the end of the Pacific War with the Allied
Forces. On August
6 the first A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, then on August 9 the second
A-bomb was dropped
on Nagasaki. Then on August 8, the Soviet Union broke the nonaggression
pact and started to
invade Manchuria. Japan had no other choices than to accept unconditional
surrender. At first
the Japanese government was worried that the Emperor system in Japan would
be abolished and
that the Emperor could be sentenced to death. Anyway who was to be blamed
for starting the war
with the United States? It was obvious that the Emperor should take the
responsibility. If other
top soldiers or statesmen felt extremely sorry for those who were killed
in the war, they should
kill themselves after the death of the Emperor. What do you think?
Lots of young people who could rebuild future Japan were killed during
the war. Some of them
had to carry out suicide attack on the U.S. battleships. They were brainwashed
to think that they
had to die for the Emperor. Many of the survivors were stupid people, so
they didn't know how
to rebuild the future of Japan. Do you know that the Commandor Yamamoto
Isoroku had been
to the United States to study at Harvard University? Smart people had to
die in the war.
《broadcast on August 10, 2020》 Don't forget that we live in a peaceful
world based on a lot of
lives of young soldiers victimized during the war. I wish them happiness
in the heaven.
Typhoon 2307 landed on the Kii Peninsula early this morning and landed
again on Akashi City
in Hyogo Pref. around 13:00 in the afternoon and headed straight up northward.
Now it's going
into the Japan Sea. It didn't rain heavily here in Chigasaki City.
The map in the right was drawn 13 hours ago when the typhoon landed on
the Kii Peninsula.
Around that time, it must have been raining so hard in the Kinki District.
I didn't predict that it
was going northwestward to Hyogo Prefecture. It seemed that the storm didn't
give too much
damage to Kyoto City maybe because the center of the storm didn't move
through Kyoto.

Yesterday I received my pension for August. In Japan pension is granted
in even-numbered
months, that is in February, April, June, August, October, and December.
The sum of money
I got was not so much, but I was satisfied, because there are many people
who get much less
than mine. My parents-in-law were betrayed by their friend when they were
younger and they
lost their company. So now the total sum of their pensions is very small,
I'm sorry. They are
very serious type of people and they were taking good care of the young
people in their firm.
I feel something is wrong with the Japanese pension system. Since you
start working, you
have to pay automatically a certain sum of money every month so that you
could receive a
pension when you become 65 years old. You've got to keep working until
you're 65. Even if
you're too sick to keep working, you have to find a way of living in some
way or other. I'm 65 now.
And I worked as a school teacher for more than 40 years, which could be
my advantage. So I
shouldn't complain about my situation. I'm one of the lucky people. I started
to receive my pension
at the age of 62, so the sum of money I could get is a little smaller than
usual. Money is not the
most important thing in the world, but you can't live happily without it.
One more problem about
the pension system is that it's too complicated to understand easily. I
once visited the pension
office, but I felt the person at the dest was speaking Russian. "Please
speak Japanese," I wanted
to say to the officer. I was a school teacher, but it was too difficult
for me. Who could understand
the system? The only thing that I could do was just smile and said goodbye.
Too funny, right?
Have you ever been to Kyoto? If yes, how many times have you been there?
I've been to the
historical city more than 70 times so far including my own school trips
in junior high school and
high school. Of course I took my students there on their school excursions
more than ten times.
When I first made a trip to Kyoto with my students, I was very much ashamed
of myself because
I didn't know almost anything about the ancient Capital of Japan. So I
made up my mind to go
and visit the city privately. Sometimes I rented a motorbike to move from
place to place, which
was so refreshing and exciting. I rented a car and went around Kyoto once,
but I noticed it was
very dangerous to go around the city by car. Most drivers in Kyoto are
short-tempered.
However by going around the city in various ways, I got more and more
interested in the city.
I understood the attractiveness of Kyoto. I enjoyed the ume flowers season
in March, the cherry
blossoms season in April, the festival season from May to July, the colored
leaves season in
November and December, and the snow season in January. The more times I
went to the city,
the more excited I became with Kyoto. And now I'm crazy about it. Actually
I'm thinking of going
to the city again at the end of November when you can enjoy beautiful colored leaves.
In Japan there is a very famous saying that means you're very familiar
with one place. "It's like
walking in my own garden." For me Kyoto is like my own garden. When
I was a school teacher
I often said to my students, "I remember the menu of a certain restaurant
in Kyoto." Of course
it's not true. I don't remember the menu of a restaurant, but it's true
that I can recommend some
good restaurants in certain places in Kyoto. I know if they're cheap or
expensive.
Do you know why leaves in Kyoto become so vividly red? It's because of
the big difference of
the temperatures of day and night. That means you can see beautiful colored
leaves in some
other places where there are warm days and cold nights. I think the Eikando
Temple is the best
place for enjoying colored leaves. You just have to pay \600 as an entrance
fee.
The most important thing about the trip to Kyoto in fall is the timing
to pay a visit. The best time
to go there might be around November 20. A few days earlier or a week later
will be fine. You can
make the best use of the package tour to Kyoto by JR Tokai Tours. A trip
for two nights and three
days will cost you around \35,000 including the Shinkansen fee. If you
want to travel alone, it will
be a little more expensive, though. What do you say? Walking under red
roofs is so fascinating.

【Voices from abroad】"It was the most terrible stain in the U.S. history,"
an American thinktank
revealed the truth behind the A-bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which
surprised the whole
world.
□Japan would have surrendered without the A-bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
□Japan would not have stopped fighting without the A-bombing of Hiroshima
and Nagasaki.
□America had to use nuclear weapons in order to end the World War Ⅱ ASAP.
□America had to show the Soviet Union that it was by far the strongest
nation in the world.
□You need to possess nuclear weapons to maintain world peace.
□It is impossible to abolish all the nuclear weapons in the world.
□The top people in the world should visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki to know
what actually happened on August 6 and 9, 1945.
□Russia will use tactical nuclear weapons during the war against Ukraine.
□It is impossible for anyone to stop Russia from continuing the war with
Ukraine.
Thank you for your cooperation. I think it's very important to think about
the questions above to
bring peace to the world today. "What is an atomic bomb? What will
happen when it's used?" You
could come to Japan to visit the peace memorial parks and the atomic bomb
museums to learn the
correct answers to those questions. You'll be frozen. You can't even shiver.
On his first at-bat in today's game with the Texas Rangers, Shohei Ohtani
hit a long fly toward
the center field. It became his 42nd homer of this season. The close score 1-0 continued until
the top of the 9th inning when the catcher Matt Thaiss hit his 8th homer.
When the closer Carlos
Estévez was walking to the pitcher's mound, I was worried that something
terrible might happen
for the third time. When one of the players on the Rangers hit a long fly
to center field, I felt as if
I was watching the déjà vu of the game with the Mariners on August 3. At the bottom of the
9th
inning, the Angels were winning by the score of 3-1, but Estévez let the enemy player hit a grand
slam and the Angels lost the game. Basically he's no good at controlling
his pitches. He becomes
such a terrible pitcher especially when the team is in a critical situation.
However manager Nevin
wants him to take the mound. He should know how to choose the right pitcher.
I think that learning English in Japan is not an easy job. You can learn
English grammar in your
own way here in Japan. However it doesn't mean that you can learn how to
speak English. When
you want to speak English fluently, you have to listen to a lot of English
before that. It's just like
taking an English shower all the time. I was not a positive guy when I
was a college student, so I
didn't think of studying abroad. If I had been to America and had stayed
there for some years to
come, I would have been a fluent speaker of English. Or I would have decided
to live in America
forever. I could have possibly bought a house in Hawaii and have married
a Chinese American.
I would never marry a Chinese woman, but a Chinese American is very attractive.
I used to say aloud that you don't need to study in America or other English-speaking
countries
to become a good speaker of English. But maybe I was wrong. If you want
to be a good speaker
of English studying by yourself in Japan, it will take you too much time
to fulfill your dream. What
do you think I did to brush up my English. I did lots and lots of things,
so you could hardly believe
it. For example, when I came across good English passages, I tried to memorize
them and repeat
the sentences as if I were speaking out with my own English words. I liked
that, but it was very
hard to put it into practice everytime I find interesting passages.
Very often I was asked by a native speaker where in the States I had lived.
I was very happy to
hear them say that. It means that my English really sounds like native
speaker's English. But to
tell the truth, I'm not satisfied with my situation yet. I want to get
better and that's why I keep
writing in my English diaries every day. I'm not sure if it really works
or not, but I don't want to
stop making efforts. As I said, you have to listen to a lot of English
if you want to be a good
speaker of English. Watching English dramas or movies will be of your help.
Let's go for it!
You don't feel that you are studying English when you're enjoying English
dramas or movies.
You can buy DVD's for them at a cheap price now. Which is more expensive,
staying in America
or watching English dramas or movies on TV? But if you can afford to go
overseas, I think it's
a very good idea. Shohei Ohtani is now a good speaker of English after
staying with his teammates
for 6 years. So if you're a lucky person, don't hesitate to stay abroad
for some years.

The long summer vacation for school children is coming to an end in about
ten days. The last
day of the vacation differs from place to place these days. Around here
in Chigasaki City, it ends
on Wednesday, August 30. And school starts again on Thursday, August 31.
When I was a school
teacher, the term of the summer vacation was the same in every school.
It was from July 20 to
August 31 and school started again on September 1. What was wrong with
the old system?
School children would be very happy if the vacation was just a day longer,
because they need a
lot of time to finish their homework. You understand how they feel when
you remember your
younger days. I myself didn't even try to finish all the homework our teachers
gave us.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology think
that they have to let
school children study more after the five-day school week system had started.
That's why they
want a shorter summer vacation, even a day or two. Do you really think
it will help school kids
study harder? I think it's a better idea for teachers to stop joking around
during the lesson than
to let the kids come to school for more days. Think of the American educational
system. They give
school kids a much longer summer vacation of about three months. Still
their system works quite
effectively. Why is that? Some of the ministry officers should go over
to the States to learn how
the teachers teach in school. Of course they tell jokes and they try to
make interesting lessons.
I still remember the angry look of the principal that he showed me last
year. In Ebina City we
teachers are not allowed to build our own blogs or websites. So when I
was hired there first, I
gave up building my homepage and threw it away. I had kept the site for
more than 10 years, so
I tried to maintain my blog secretly. I hear someone in the board of education
in Ebina City is
checking every teacher's computer to see if something illegal is going
on. My blog was found
in that system and I was called into the principal's office.
"What have you been doing in the teachers' room? Haven't you done
anything that the board
of education doesn't allow you to do? What're you doing that for?"
"I just wanted to keep a kind of diary both in Japanese and English.
It could help me brush up
my English, I believed."
"I know an English teacher who is much better than you."
("You don't know how good I am as an English teacher, do you?")
"OK, then let me see your diary, if it's not inconvenient to you."
It was impossible for me to show him my diary, because I wrote something
critical to school.
I don't remember the content of my diary. At that time I knew I had done
a big mistake. Since
that moment, the principal has hated me a lot. He was not going to give
me any significant jobs
this April. Surprisingly he didn't give me any English classes that I was
to take care of. I couldn't
take care of the International Class anymore which I started a year ago.
I was told to look after
the Individual Support Grade. I had never done that before.
Toward the end of this March I went to the principal and said that I was
thinking of quit the
job because I was not in good health. He answered, "Perhaps it's too
late." Too late for what?
Maybe he didn't make it into a big problem. It was a kind of power harassment.
He was trying
to make me do something very difficult. He was one of the most hateful
principals I had ever
known However it was not a lie that I was in poor health. When I woke up
in the morning, I
often felt like throwing up. Now I think it was caused by a lot of stress
I had at that time. I'm
getting better now and I know that I don't like school anymore.
I'm terribly sorry to have complained about my experience. I really understand
that you're not
happy to read a story like this. What I can do right now is to forget all
about it. For me he was
such a mean person, but for other teachers he might have been a nice guy.
I have to admit
that I have done something wrong first. I know I should have thought twice
before doing a
stupid job like that. It was partly because I didn't have many important
jobs then.

【Message from the video editor】 Released on April 18, 2023
Hello everyone, I am a country barber. I live in a backward rural area where few people consciously
spay their dogs. Dogs are over-bred and puppies are abandoned almost every
day My main goal is to
help stray animals, find suitable adopters for abandoned puppies, neuter
stray dogs, and make people
pay more attention to the dogs around them.❣️
Thank you all for your support and help A puppy is abandoned at the barbershop!
It's trembling !
Panda Face Puppy Was Abandoned, When Its Face Was Leaning Against My Hand,
Moved To Tears!
I'm very sorry to say this, but how can I trust people living in a country
where dogs are eaten for
dinner. Are they really interested in rescuing stray dogs? How can I believe
in people who throw food
to stray dogs. In Japan we treat stray dogs as human children, so we seldom
throw food on the ground.
But the barber in the video threw a piece of cookie to the stray puppy.
And one more thing, he called
the puppy "it" always, perhaps because he was not interested
if the dog was male or female. How can
he insist that he loves stray dogs and that he wants to rescue them. I
know I'm mean to say this, but
we live in the age when it's quite difficult to trust people. Only a few
people are honest these days.
Was the puppy really a stray dog? Suppose that the puppy was a boy, let
me call the puppy "he"
now. If he was a stray dog, he should have been much dirtier. The barber
said that he was going to
clean him up, but there was no scene of letting him take a bath. Still
he was such a beautiful dog.
If you make a video of rescuing stray dogs, will it help you make some
money? However I guess many
people in China are trying to do such tricky jobs. It's a country that we can't rely on. I've been a
school teacher of English, so I understand I should try to understand people
in a fair way. But China
has hated western countries for a long time, because it was invaded by
them many times. And they
regard Japan as America's pet dog Pochi. That's why they deceive foreign
people, not only western
countries, but also poor countries in Southeast Asia. Now you know why
I say I can't trust them.
Do you often eat fried vegetables? Eating vegetables is known to be good
for your health. But
when you fry vegetable, you should not use too much oil. It will make a
fatty liver, which is no good
for those who have diabetes. When I went to see my diabetes doctor last,
he told me that it would
be better for me to cook boiled vegetables. Boiled vegetables are now very
popular because it's
healthy. They are called "onyasai" in Japanese. "On"
means warm and "yasai" means vegetables.
When you cook boiled vegetables, you don't use any oil.
When I go shopping, I often buy bags of cut vegetables. This morning I
tried to cook healthy boiled
vegetables. I just put a bag of cut vegetables in a frying pan and pour
a little water on it. It's just
that. Piece of cake, right? You can just put some ponzu vinegar over it
and everything's done. It's
so delicious and healthy. Once you taste it, you won't be able to stop
eating it.
It's true that you can't live without food and water. You have food and
good water every day.
It's quite important to drink a lot of good mineral water. Especially in
the middle of summer, you
have to drink about 2 litters of water in a day. Good food is also very
important to keep yourself
in good health. You have to eat a lot of boiled vegetables, fish, pork,
etc. Eating natto and tofu
for breakfast is considered to be good for the health even in western countries.
Of course eating
yogurt after each meal is so good. If you want to live longer, get interested
in food and water.
I never thought of boiled broccolis and cauliflowers. Wow, they look so
yummy. Maybe it takes
a little time, but it'll be worth trying tomorrow morning. Breakfast is very important anyway.
When I went out for shopping this evening, I found that broccolis were
a little bit too expensive.
One block cost a little more than \250, not so big though. The plate on
them tells that they were
from Hokkaido. I doubted they really did, because they were not very clean.
It seemed that they
were a little damaged. So at the first supermarket I decided not to buy
it, but at the next drugstore
I found clean ones, so I bought one of them. It's going to be a very expensive
breakfast.
I know I was wrong to try to buy well-shaped vegetables. You understand
how I felt? If they're
cheap, I don't care if they're well-shaped or not. Sometimes dirty vegetables
with some soil taste
good. Next time I try to buy broccolis, I'll think about it twice and make
a decision. We also have
to think of those people who have taken a lot of time to grow their own
vegetables.
I was looking for some good photos of broccolis and found that they were
growing the biggest
amount of broccolis in Hokkaido. Now I understand why most of the broccolis
sold at stores are
from Hokkaido. I should not doubt that. Usually broccolis are eaten in
fall and winter, but those
broccolis from Hokkaido are very popular in summer and fall, a website
explains.
I've got one more good piece of information when you try to cook broccolis.
You should not cut
them into small pieces before boiling them. You have to boil whole the
stock. And when you want
to be cooled down, once again you can't cut them into pieces. You just
keep the stock and wait
until they are cool. That's the best way to keep the nourishment inside.
Let me try tomorrow.
I have good news and bad news, which would you like to hear? OK, from bad
news. The Angels
lost the game with the Tampa Bay Reys by the score of 6-9. At the bottom of the 9th inning, they
tied with the Reys, but on top of the 10th inning, Carlos Estévez lost two runs and Aaron Loup
lost another run after him. At that moment, the Reys was leading by 9-6.
End of the game.
At the bottom of the 2nd inning, Shohei Ohtani hit a grand slam and made
the Angels lead the
game by 5-1. I think there is almost no possibility for the Angels to go
on to the post season, so
I don't care if they win the game or not. But I'm sorry however hard the
members of the Angels
played, the poor relievers tend to lose the important runs at the very
end of the game. Why did
the manager Nevin let them take the round on the 9th and the 10th innings?
He made the same
mistakes again and again. They don't have the nerve to pitch against the
strong team.
However it's OK. Shohei Ohtani made 2 hits out of 5 at-bats. It's not
Estévez or Loup who is to
be blamed. It's the manager Nevin who has to feel responsible for that.
The former manager Maddon
was fired because the team had lost 12 consecutive games. Then why isn't
the present manager
Nevin fired even if the team lost many important games? Is that because
the manager Nevin and
the general manager Minasian and the owner Moreno are good companies with one another.
You must be wondering where the good news is. The best news today was that Logan O'Hoppe
had come back to the dugout from the Injured List. He was the good catcher
who got along very
well with the pitcher Shohei Ohtani. He's supposed to pitch on the 24th
of this month. I'm looking
forward to seeing the best battery of the Angels. I don't care if they
win or not. I'm very happy to
see them in good health. Do you also know that Chad Wallach received a discharge notice? They
don't have three catchers in their team. And he didn't make many hits recently.
They will keep
Matthew Thaiss in case O'Hoppe should get injured again. The second catcher just in case.
The MLB is such a severe place to play for. Only 40 players can be registered on one team. If
not you can't play in the regular games. I think it has something to do
with the manager's likes and
dislikes. I can't tell anything more about it. Do you think the top three
people of the Angels like
Shohei Ohtani? I'm not sure. He's a superhero that no one can deny. If
they really like and respect
Ohtani, how can they use him cruelly like this? I want them to think more
of the superhero.

《Tiniest Puppy Transforms Completely after being Rescued》
The little boy was all alone in the cold weather. First he was scared,
but soon he got used to
people and came closer to the rescuer. In the car he met a new friend from
Paw Squadron. Then
they went to the vet clinic first. Nothing was wrong with his health. They
came home after that
and he took a warm shower to be all cleaned up. I wanted to see him drink
clean water happily
and enjoy a proper meal. I hope he will grow fast to become a cute bigger
dog and that he will
find a good loving family as soon as possible. I wish him lots of happiness
and good luck.
(Sunday, August 20, 2023)
The little girl was found at the edge of a lake faraway. The rescuer saw
here wandering at the
shore of the lake. Where was she usually staying for days and nights?
At first she was so scared
that she was trying to hide under a few branches, which was impossible.
It took her a long time
to calm down and let the rescuer take her with him. He gave her some water
and food. On their
way back home, they stopped at a park where the little puppy suddenly became
friendly and
playful. She wanted to be cuddled and asked for belly rubs. Oh, I almost
forgot to mention this,
but when the rescuer tried to catch her, she tried to run away into the
water. She was afraid of
people, but not swimming in the water. Or she might have thought water
was better than people.
Then they went to the vet. When she saw the gentle vet, she started to
wag her tail. She looked
happy to meet someone who loved dogs. Instinctively she knew that he was
a good guy. The vet
found nothing wrong with her health and both of them came home with lol
(lots of love). Then she
took a warm bath which she liked so much. She was all cleaned up and dried
up also. After that
she was given a delicious dinner. Now she was getting sleepy. She almost
fell into sleep in the
cradle. Yes, it's been a very long day that they had. From a scared puppy
to a happy lady.
The next day the rescuers too her to the mountain top by cable car. There
were so many people
visiting the place. It was her first time to walk among so many people.
On the grass she lay down
and asked for belly rubs again. She must have been very happy with the
rescuers. Now she's looking
for a new home and a new loving family to adopt her. Good luck to her and
her rescuers.
I have to take a lot of kinds of medicine every day. Every time I go see
the doctors, they prescribe
expensive medicines for me. Insuline shots for self-injection, tablets and capsules to cure
hypertension (high blood pressure) or hyperlipemia (too much fat in blood). Some of the technical
terms are too difficult to use again, I'm sorry. I visit the hospital about
once in two months and the
medical fee including medicines is about \30,000. If I get better, I need less medicines. Of course
I have to pay less, which is what I expect to happen. If you see all the
tablets and capsules I take,
you'll be very much surprised. First I didn't like to take all of them,
but now I've got used to it. If they
help me improve my health, I don't care how many of them I have to take.
Talking about beautiful islands in the South Pacific. I've been to Tahiti
once and it was such a
great experience that I had. I went to Tahichi just after I divorced my
first wife. I didn't want to
have a miserable time here in Japan, so I asked the principal to let me
leave Japan before school
ended on December 24th. It took me more than 12 hours on a jet plane and
when we were flying
over the Pacific Ocean, we experienced tough turbulence which made us feel
so scared. I thought
we were crashing into the ocean. I tried to get into sleep as hard as I
could.
Tahiti was a Frenh territory, so the native people spoke to tourists in
French. I majored in the
French language as my second language, so I could speak a little French.
But my French teacher
at college always complained about me saying, "You're a bad student.
You always speak English."
Actually learning the French grammar was very difficult and I didn't try
hard to master it. Anyway
if you try to speak even a little French, they will be happy to talk to
us in English.
The reason that I loved to visit Tahiti was the very famous movie entitled
"The South Pacific"
was located in Tahiti. When I saw the movie when I was in junior high school,
I was very impressed
by the beautiful scenes in the movie. So my dream came true. I wished if
I could have taken my
divorced wife to the paradise in the South Pacific Ocean.
It was really a beautiful place that everybody should visit once in their
life. But suddenly I felt
lonely because I realized that I was all alone. If you have someone beside
you, you would be able
to talk to him or her about the beautiful scenery. "Wow, isn't that
so beautiful! This is just like a
paradise." When you two agree with each other, your happiness will
surely be doubled. However
if you're there without anyone to talk to, you will feel less happy than
you should have been.
Anyway I thought it was an incredibly beautiful island, but I didn't feel
like going to the beaches
to enjoy crystal clear seas. I stayed in my hotel room and watched videos
on TV. What a waste
of time and money! But I tried to go to the location island by a small
propeller aircraft. I rented
a car there and went around the small island. It was fun because it was
a left-hand drive car.
On the way I saw some children playing at the beautiful beach. I stopped
the car and got out
to talk to them in French. Somehow I made it. I can't say that I have fully
enjoyed my stay on
the island, but I'd like to go there again with somebody I love in the
future. But be careful. It will
cost you more than \500,000 to travel there. Sometimes more than\1,000,000.
Save money.
Do you know the difference of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean and Tahiti
in the South Pacific?
The answer is that the Maldives are coral islands and that Tahiti is a
volcanic islands. So there are
no high mountains in the Maldives. However they have very beautiful seas
in common.

This news was delivered by Hokkaido News UHB at 19:20 on July 5th, which will let you see
the latest news about the elephant baby if you click on the name of the
news agency. It was a
happy piece of news that we had yesterday of course, but do you remember
the sad story about
the three poor elephants at Ueno Zoo during wartime? The government ordered the zoo officials
not to give any food to the three elephants until they died of hunger.
They were afraid that many
wild animals would run away to hurt people if the zoo was bombed and destroyed.
How could
they think of the cruel idea? Maybe they had to say goodbye to their parents
when they were
taken to a faraway country. But they learned to show us their performances
and made a lot of
visitors happy. Especially little children were extremely happy to see
big and calm animals like
them. Finally they were killed without anything to eat. Until they died,
they kept performing as
usual because they wanted the officials to give them food as rewards. Still
we want elephants
in the zoos all over Japan? Before doing that we should pray for the killed
elephants at Ueno Zoo.
When I visit Kyoto, I sometimes go to Kyoto City Zoo. It's because I like
animals, but if I really
like them I should wish that every one of the animals in the zoos in Japan
would be sent back
to their homeland. If you were a wild animal living happily with your family
and friends, would you
like to say goodbye to them to start living in faraway zoos in the cities?
You might get popular among
people and you won't have a hard time trying to find something to eat.
Will you be satisfied? I would
like to go back to my homeland. However if I try to run away from my own
zoo, I'll surely be shot to
death because I'm considered as a dangerous animal. They would have to
kill me just as the three
poor elephants were killed during the war. They were considered as dangerous
animals.
First they tried to kill the elephants by giving them poisoned food. But they were so smart that
they didn't eat poisoned food. They only chose good food. The biggest problem
with this was that
the elephants didn't want to come to Japan. Some people thought of making
money by showing
those huge animals at Ueno Zoo. At the time of death, they might have dreamt
of their parents
in their home country. Some scientists say that we need to have zoos in
order to study the lives
of wild animals. Actually they're not "wild," though. Do we really
need zoos? We have a computer
at home today. If we want to study the ways they live, we can check it
up on the Internet.
I've been to the garbage collection site now. Today's the burnable garbage
day. When I went
out with the yellow garbage bag, I really felt like being grilled on the
cooking gauze. Yesterday
on my way home from shopping, I saw an ambulance coming for the sick man.
He was drinking
something in a bottle maybe because of heat stroke. Today you'll also have
to be careful with
heat stroke. Drink a lot of thinned sports drink and stay in an air-conditioned
place. Someday
the extremely hot weather will be gone. Until then we have to take good
care of ourselves.

Today's one month's birthday of the cute puppies. Together with Mom Mikan and Dad Qtaro,
we went to the photo shop named Mitsuta to have our photos taken. The photo
shop Mitsuta
have taken pictures of dogs a few times, so the manager thought of many good ideas. At first we
were going there with only puppies, but suddenly I changed my mind to
take their mom and dad
too. The manager was glad to accept my proposal. All the staff at the shop
were willing to listen
to us. They were all good at taking care of puppies, gentle and polite. We really had a happy time
there. Thanks to their good jobs, we could get beautiful framed photos
of the four puppies called
"Chibies (Little puppies)."
Hey, it's impossible to keep them quiet. When they were born a month ago,
on April 26, 2020,
they were all beautiful and quiet. But soon they became active, playful,
and mischievous, so now
it's difficult for them to be a good boy and good girls and stay calm.
They're so curious that they
move from place to place. When you notice, they're here and there.
Wow, I was surprised to see Chataro (the only boy) fall down from the platform after his mother.
What a relief! He was safe because little puppies were like soft rubber
balls. Yuzu (the oldest girl)
played with the ornaments and the other three started to get into sleep.
Very funny, right?
Then the manager thought of a good idea of taking photos of all the puppies
from the back. But
Yuzu didn't agree with the idea and she didn't show her hip to the cameraman.
She hates to do
the same things as the others. She likes to act like the princess of the
Garden Mikan. Did you see
her sleeping with her belly upward? She's such a daring girl. Three years
have passed since then,
but she hasn't changed much. She still wants to be the top of the Chibies.
The Chibies were the names given to those four little brother and sisters.
One of them was a
boy and the other three were girls. Yuzu was as small as Tomato, and Chataro was as big as
Matsuko (now named Matsuba). Later Tomato and Matsuko were adopted by other families.
However they often come and visit the Garden Mikan to play with their siblings
and parents.
They're in very good relations with one another.
I called the shop "Photo Shop Mitsuta," but exactly it was named
"Studio Mitsuta." Sorry for
the mistake I made. It was such a cute and nice video "Tochan (Big Daddy)" shot.

Chataro and Shotaro went swimming at the Aoihama Dogs' Beach the other
day. Both of them
like swimming very much. Especially Chataro, the big bother, is a good
swimmer and he enjoys
swimming in the Garden Mikan's swimming pool every day. Maybe it will help
him cool down when
the weather is terribly hot. At the beach, a dog was running around without
a leash. Mummy was
afraid that Chataro will panic and bark at the dog. The dog was friendly,
but Chataro usually hates
to play with other dogs he doesn't know. However Mummy's "No, Chataro!"
was a little too loud
and Chataro was so freightened that he tried to hide in the corner of the
tent. Of course Mummy
apologized to him, but he was too shocked to get back his smiles on his
face again.
Basically he is a very gentle dog. Since he was a baby, he has been so
big and gentle. He doesn't
like to fight other dogs. He's not a mischievous dog, so he is seldom scolded
with a big voice. That's
why he was surprised at Mummy's loud voice. I'm very sorry for him. Cheer
up, Chataro!
Chataro looks so much depressed, right? In the right picture, all the four
siblings were just two
months old if I remember correctly. The leftmost puppy must be Chataro.
They all look very nice.
I'm looking forward to a latest video which will be released tonight, showing
that Chataro has
come back to be a cheerful boy as usual. I'll introduce the video in my
Japanese diary.
【Messages from THE Barber Rescues Stray Dogs】 Released on August 16, 2023
《Puppy the size of a palm is abandoned at a fair! Sad eyes! Few people
really like rural dog》
Hello everyone. I am a country barber. I live in a backward rural area
where few people consciously
spay their dogs. Dogs are over-bred and puppies are abandoned almost every day. My main goal is
to help stray animals, find suitable adopters for abandoned puppies, neuter
stray dogs, and make
people pay more attention to the dogs around them.❣️ Thank you all for
your support and help.
There was a town's name in the video, which I checked out on the Internet.
I found that it was
a Chinese town in Hunan Province. Now I hate this video again. The rescuer
(I don't want to call
them rescuers, though) was talking about the adopters. The guy was wondering
if the dogs would
be easily adopted or not. After this more than two cats had been sent to
them in a cardboard box.
They were cute and beautiful, so the guy soon decided to take them back
home. Maybe he thought
he could get some money by selling the cats. But when he talked about the
dog in the last scene,
he said he didn't think the dog would be adopted easily. Because he was
a little dirty and didn't
look so nice? He was sure to become a beautiful dog after he took a warm
bath. Is he really from
a rescue group? Isn't he going to get some money by selling them secretly?
I will never trust them.
You know China is a country where dogs are eaten as food. Such a savage
country is really going
to save stray dogs? I guess they try to think of themselves before thinking
of poor stray dogs. They
will ask for donation, but will they really use the money for the happiness
of stray dogs? I'm very
sorry to say this, but as a matter of fact Chinese people can't be trusted.
We can say that from what
they do in everyday lives. Now is the time it's hard to get pure water,
many of them rush to Japan
to try to buy more and more water resources. They don't think of Japanese
people. They just think
of Chinese people only. Everything they do outrage humanity. COVID-19 is
a good example.
This is the video released today, but the last day when Garden Mikan went
swimming at the
Aoihama Dogs' Beach was the day before yesterday on August 20. As I already
mentioned,
Chataro heard Mummy's scolding voice and was shocked to lose all his energy.
He really looked
depressed. However in today's video, Chataro was very energetic again and
enjoyed swimming
with his little brother Shotaro, with Qtaro Papa and the youngest Black-Shiba
sister Ringo on
the surfboard together. Once or twice they fell from the surfboard into
the sea, but they were
quite OK. They could swim back to the shore. Both Chataro and Shotaro were
good swimmers.
It seemed that Shotaro felt relieved when he was with his big brother Chataro.
At the ending of the video, Tochan said that we started going to the beach
because Chataro
was born in Garden Mikan. He did a great job. I agree. Chataro is such
a memorable boy that
we can never forget. Thanks to him, more members in Garden Mikan learned how to swim both
in the river and in the sea. I hope they'll be able to enjoy swimming next
summer too.

Isn't it a little cooler than yesterday? There are lots of clouds in the
sky. I saw a very big
thunderclouds in the sky yesterday. They were dark grey and looked so scary.
But I didn't hear
any thunders after that. When it's extremely humid during the day, big
thunderclouds appears
and we're afraid of a sudden shower toward the evening. We need a sudden
and heavy rainfall
when it's burning hot during the day. We can cool down, but the rain should
not last for a long
time. In a weather like this, it's difficult to decide if you should take
your umbrella with you when
you go out for shopping in the evening. You don't want to get wet in the
sudden rain.
The two types of clouds in the above photos don't look different from each
other. Yes, they're all
the same. The names given to them are different in Japan. The left photo
shows a thundercloud
and the right photo shows a cumulonimbus, a very difficult technical term.
Thunderclouds are a
little scary because they bring a lot of sudden rainfall and thunders and
lightenings. On the other
hand, cumulonimbuses go very well with the heat of summer. They're not
scary at all.
However there is one thing I have to say about those clouds. That is they
remind me of the
mushroom clouds that were seen in Hiroshima and Nagasaki when the two A-bombs
were dropped
there for the first time in history. Those clouds were more than scary.
They were clouds seen in
the hell. In the extremely hot weather like today, many people were burned
to death. I'm so sorry.
Tonight I came across an animal rescue video which looked fake. If you
are to rescue a puppy,
do you let him/her eat something dirty while you're explaining the situation?
If you're a good guy,
you would give him/her some proper food and drinks. Because the telop goes
as follows: It must
be thirsty and hungry. Then give him/her something to eat and drink ASAP.
That's why I call it
a fake video. I know it's been shot by some Chinese people. They just want
money from all over
the world. They're not interested in rescuing dogs. I really hate them.
However the poor dog was
real, so I thought of introducing the video here. No, I can't. No, I shouldn't.
I know that I shouldn't blame Chinese people for what only a few Chinese
have been doing so
far. I feel they're only interested in earning money by any means. The
make fake videos about poor
abandoned dogs and ask for donation. Small money coming from all over the
world will make a big
sum of money. That's what they plan to do, I guess. When I first came across
their video, I wondered
why there were so many mistakes in the telop in English. First I thought
they were speaking some
Indian language, but later I heard a city name. I checked it up on the
Internet and found it was a
tourist place in southern China. Why do Chinese people try to build up
an animal saving group?
It's a county where some people like to eat dogs as food. You remember
COVID-19. Where did
it come from? If they respect human lives, they could have stayed away
from dangerous bats in
caves. Maybe some scientists said that it would make lots of money to catch
bats living in caves.
They only think of money, but they never think of what they should do and
what they shouldn't.
I'm very sorry to say this, but I can't trust Chinese people. OK, if they
really want to shoot an
animal rescue video, please try to give the poor dog some food and water
first. Is that clear?

《Stray Mama Dog and Her Puppy Have the Sweetest Reaction to Being Rescued》
February 24 our country woke up to flying rockets and explosions! The
governmental authorities
of the Russian Federation started a full-scale war against our country... So many families leave the
country and their pets are just left behind on the streets. We don't leave
the country, we continue
to feed stray dogs and rescue as many animals as we can. Please pray for
Ukraine, please pray for
us and our Furry Friends to be safe. Please subscribe to our new channel "Stray Furry Friends"...
They're from Ukraine that Russia started to invade on February 24, 2022.
They were asked to
rescue a mother dog and her daughter. They were so friendly because they
must have been yard
dogs before. Both of them were microchipped, but maybe their owner left them home and was
evacuated to a safer place. I don't know why they left their lovable dogs
behind in a dangerous
home country. The mother dog was named Luna, and her puppy Sarah. The mother
was nearly
3 years old, and her puppy about 5 months old. The puppy was freightened
in a critical situation,
so she would never leave her mom's side. I'm very sorry for them and at
the same time I'd like to
thank the rescue organization for staying in Ukraine to rescue stray dogs.
I really wish that they'll
be able to find a good family to take care of them. Please God help them
and the rescue people.
Shohei Ohtani suffered from UCL injuries, which turned out in today's first game. It didn't damage
his hitting skill and he hit his 44th home run at the bottom of the 1st
inning. He felt something wrong
with his right elbow and stopped pitching to go back to the locker room.
The general manager took an
X-ray photo of is elbow and found that his UCL was injured.
After the second game was finished, the general manager had a press conference
telling that Ohtani
is not going to pitch any more. He didn't say that he was terribly sorry
for him. He regrets having used
him too much. That's what he didn't say either. Are they really sorry for
giving him UCL injuries?
Have you ever seen the photo of the tenth commissioner of MLB, Robert Manfred Jr.? He doesn't
like Shohei Ohtani. Maybe he doesn't want an Asian player to control MLB,
because baseball belongs
to the United States, not Japan. In the photo with Ohtani he was smiling,
but deep inside his mind he
was not happy at all. In one of the You Tube videos, he talked about Ohtani's
next contract money.
"You're thinking of paying him more than 7 hundred million dollars?
Wake up. That's too much. He's
on the edge of the Injured List. You should change your mind, guys."
I'd like to say to him, "Don't
you understand MLB has become popular again thanks to him? Without him
many of the baseball
fans now will leave the stadiums. If you're not interested in making MLB
more and more popular, why
don't you become the top chairman of the soccer association? I really hate
you.
